Samohi Super Saturday

21st Century Schools

Team Marine Assembly and Climate Action Fair Friday, September 20

4th Period Assembly: Climate change is the greatest and most complex problem Homo sapiens have ever faced. To bring awareness and share solutions, Team Marine has organized an assembly this Friday, September 20 to inspire students and staff to take real action on climate disruption and provide the tools and information necessary to do so. We encourage everyone to join us in Barnum Hall during 4th period, where you'll hear from students, political leaders, and our district's sustainability coordinator about preventing more climate catastrophe.
A Climate Acton Fair will be held in the centennial quad during lunch, where booths from different organizations will come to share events, community engagement opportunities, and solutions. Included will be a voter registration booth, so if you're over 16, bring your driver's license or state I.D. or have your social security number ready.

Coastal Cleanup Day is Saturday, September 21

Excited to see EVERYBODY - Admin, students, teachers, and staff at the 30th Annual Beach Cleanup this Saturday from 9am - noon. We will meet at Lifeguard Station 20, straight down Pico/Bay Street. Bring gloves and buckets or bags if you have them.

Applications for Club Mini Grants

Attention Samohi clubs and faculty: PTSA Mini Grant applications are now being accepted for Fall Semester. Mini Grants are designed so that clubs and organizations which do not receive funding from the PTSA or have regular fundraising activities, may apply for awards up to $250 each for activities that have educational and/or community value here at Samohi. Club leaders, if you have a great idea you have been wondering how to fund, please ask your faculty advisor for an application form and apply today! Applications are due October 4th at 4 p.m.

Teen Talk Mentors Wanted

Are you interested in becoming a peer mentor for Teen Talk? We are looking for committed students that think they would be a good fit to provide social-emotional support to other peers through the Teen Talk app. Being a Teen Talk mentor will build your resume and looks great for college applications. To participate, you must be selected and submit an application by Monday, September 30 at 1pm. To find out more about the application and training process, please visit https://tinyurl.com/y5jners5. Email Leeron at ltzalka@jbbsla.org with additional questions.
