  • Congratulations to the Samohi Marching Band for winning a place in the London New Year's Day Parade. The Band traveled to London from December 27 to January 3.

  • Congratulations to the Samohi Varsity Cheerleading Team. They competed at the CIF (California State Cheerleading Champonships) at the Home Depot Center!  They came in 1st place and took home the CIF championship in the medium varsity division!  A highlight of their performance as well as an interview was aired on Fox Sports. You can see both by watching the YouTube Video.   • Congratulations Santa Monica High School SAGE Team! The Entrepreneurship Team has placed first in the Nation! The following students have been invited to represent the USA at the SAGE World Cup this summer in Nigeria: Jessie Chan, Alberto De Pablo, Sonam Chodak, Tenzin Chodak, Jasmine McClain, Jane Beck and Monica Choo. An extra special thanks to all the students in Project ECHO who run the Vikes Inn and Café, the Virtual Enterprise Class, and Soiree Locations, Team Marine, Heal the Bay Club and ASB for all the collaborative efforts!(5/30/08)

  • Congratulations to the Boys' Track team for winning the Ocean League Championship! And congratulations to the Boys' four hundred relay with the 5th fastest all time performance at 42.35. (5/2/08)

  • Congratulations to Santa Monica's SAGE Team and the students from R.O.P. Project ECHO and Virtual Enterprise for the recent "win" for 1st place in the State of California at the competition in Sacramento. The following team members will be traveling to Cincinnati, Ohio May 21st to represent California in the National Competition:  Jessie Chan, Tanzin Chodak, Sonam Chodak, Alberto De Pablo, Jasmine McClain, Monica Choo and Jane Beck.  Also a special thanks to the many students in ECHO and Virtual Enterprise for their hard work on the nine projects submitted.  Go Samohi!   • Congratulations to the Samohi Quiz Bowl Team for winning the State Championship this past Saturday at UC Irvine.  The team, composed of seniors Evan Perkins, Ilan Ben-Meir, and Aaron Burkenroad, and junior Marino Di Franco, won their games by an average of 435-110.  The team will next travel to Chicago to represent Southern California at the National championship in May.  Go Acadeca!!   • Congratulations to the 2008 Female Greenies selected to the All CIF Team!  First Team: Kaylie Cohen, Second Team: Erin Nadel, Third Team: Hope Clement. (3/6/08)

  • Congratulations to all the R.O.P. marketing and entrepreneurship classes who participated in the UCLA School of Andersen business plan competition this past Sunday. Samohi swept all categories entered! Give a special thanks to the following students who presented: 1st place for new on-campus business, 'Tote-a-lly Awesome, the Virtual Essential Project Echo class: Alexis Kumasaka, Evelyne Santiago and Vanessa Orozco. 1st place for best existing on-campus business, 'Seflora', the Marketing Essential class: Nicole Woon, Linda Nguyen, Yecica De Luise, Katie Viana, Sonia Alverez, Maria Bravo, Angie Yi and Yeji Lee. 2nd Place for best existing on-campus business, 'Vikes Inn & Cafe ': Sonam Chodak, Tenzin Chodak, Jessie Chan, Alberto DePablo and Marvin Mendez. Teams won $2,500 in prize money and once again showed why Samohi is internationally recognized for our entrepreneurship programs. (2/29/08)

  • Congratulations to the Samohi Science Bowl Team for winning the JPL Los Angeles/Orange Country Science Bowl competition. The team, composed of seniors Sasha Boulgakov, Dimitry Petrenko and Ian Scheffler, and junior Marino Di Franco, won all nine of their games by a record average margin of victory of 203-52. They also scored a tournament record 208 points in the final round. The team will now travel to Washington, DC to represent Southern California at the national competition.     As national champions representing the United States of America, they have just returned from the World Cup competition in Shanghai China. They were named the World Cup Champions!
