The meeting  was called to order at 7:10 pm. by PTSA  Co-President Cheri Orgel. She welcomed everyone, and introduced Lupe Perez, who provided simultaneous Spanish translation.  She also welcomed parents from other schools who were attending to hear and participate in the presentation of the Special Education DAC, and introduced those present to speak upon adjournment:  

Tricia Crane, Chair, Special Ed District Advisory Committee;
Dr. Jennifer Zvi, Learning Disability Specialist, Cal State Northridge;
Susan Archibald, Academic Counselor, Venice Skills Center
Ava Gawronski, Learning Disabilities Center, Santa Monica College.

PTSA Business.
Minutes.
  The minutes from the February and March meeting were approved by committee.
Treasurer's Report.  The Treasurer's Report was distributed for review and approval. Amy Van Pelt moved to approve; seconded, vote taken, approved.  Treasurer's Report to be filed.  Amy Van Pelt moved to ratify bills as presented; seconded, voted upon, approved.  

2005-2006 Slate.
Maryanne Solomon moved to approve the  presented slate for 2005-2006; seconded by Nancy Holland-Stern. Orgel asked for nominations from the floor; none taken.  Voted upon, approved.  New slate is as follows:

Co 1st VP-Communications: Randi Hutchinson / Reiko Alemania
Co 2nd VP - Education & Community Concerns: Janine Brownstone / Shawn Berry

Caravan For Kids.
Louise Jaffe reported on Caravan for Kids, a caravan departing Santa Monica  to Sacramento on April 28 in Sacramento, traveling by chartered bus, and appearing at a Rally for school funding  on the Capitol steps.   Financial assistance is possible for those interested in going and needing aid.  Clipboards were passed, and brochures available.  Please see Jaffe for more information or any questions. 

There being no other business, the meeting adjourned at 7:10 pm.
