GRADUATION INFORMATION FOR SENIORS




A student's senior year is a very special time and is full of expectations, commitments, and deadlines. There are many activities and additional expenses during this last year of high school - class ring, senior portrait, class picture, prom, graduation announcements, cap & gown, and Grad Nite.

Senior Parent Meeting

The Senior Parent meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 7PM in the Cafeteria.

Class Rings

Jostens representative, John Zavala, can be reached at 805-987-4147. He will be on campus during Back to School Night and periodically during the year.

Panoramic Picture

October 17, 2007 is the date the whole senior class will have a panoramic picture taken. Order information and prices to be announced.

Cap and Gown Rental

Cap and Gown Rental information will be handed out to seniors during the week of November 19. Orders will be taken during Josten's Family Order Night on November 27 or during lunch on November 28.

Graduation Tickets:

Each student is given 3 guest tickets when the senior picks up their cap and gown. Beginning Tuesday, May 27, 2008, they can sign up for the lottery in the Activities Office. The lottery offers them an opportunity to buy an extra ticket for $5.00. The results of the Lottery will be posted on June 5, 2008. The tickets will be sold to students on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 9:00 AM in the Vikes' Cafe.

Senior Art Show:

Show will be held on May 27, 2008 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Roberts Art Gallery (1st Floor of the History Building.)

Senior Honors Celebration:

Celebration will take place on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 7:00 PM in Barnum Hall. This is a ceremony to celebrate senior achievement, honors, & scholarship awards. Everyone may attend, and if a student receives an invitation, it means he/she will be receiving recognition.

Yearbook Distribution:

Yearbook distribution will be Wednesday June 11, 2008. All obligations must be cleared prior to obtaining a yearbook. Obligations include: Library, textbook, financial, and detention.

Grad Nite Information:

Grad Nite is an extravagant all-night party exclusively for the graduating class of Santa Monica and Olympic High Schools. It is put on by parents, district teachers & staff, local businesses, and community members. Grad Nite will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2008 from 9:30 PM to 5:30 AM. Doors are only open for passenger arrivals from 9:30 to 11:30 PM, so DON'T BE LATE! For more information, go to the Grad Nite webpages at:

Grad Nite Ticket Reservations

Another deadline not to miss is the Grad Nite Ticket Sale

  • Tickets are $75 until June 18, 2008
  • Tickets bought at the door are $100 CASH ONLY

Grad Nite Ticket Forms are available in the Activities office -- same rack as the envelopes for Cap and Gown Rentals.
