These self-portraits are fashioned after the work of realist Chuck Close. Students were instructed to use grid
squares, small bits of irregular paper, inked fingerprints, etc. to create images that, when viewed from afar,
appear as a single, unified image which attempt photo-reality, in a pixelated form.
