Art Students from Santa Monica High School Present One-Day Exhibit at Bergamot Station
Advanced art students from Santa Monica High School will be showing the best of their most recent work at “ArtLoud,” a special one-day exhibit at Bergamot Station’s William Turner Gallery in Santa Monica on June 8, 2008, from 4-7 pm.
The event will feature paintings, drawings, and multimedia pieces from students currently enrolled in the school’s Advanced Placement Art courses. “The AP students this year are truly advanced in developing their own artistic voice and theme,” says Amy Bouse, chair of the Art Department at Santa Monica High School. “Many of these students are also returning to their own subject matters in series of works that approach the same ideas, resulting in art that shows thoughtful consideration.”
Organized by the nonprofit group Samo4Art, the art exhibit will include a silent art auction, raffle, music, and refreshments. All proceeds will be used to support visual arts education at Santa Monica High School.
