The SAT-II tests of languages can substitute for the U.C./Cal State University requirement of three years of the same "foreign" language.
Remember that English as a second language does not count as a "foreign" language to apply for college.
You can take the SAT-II test for your first language or for another language that you know.
Be sure to look into the SAT-II test carefully; not all languages are offered for the SAT-II test, and the college you are applying for may not accept an SAT-II test or even require a "foreign" language.
