Ballet 1 (Dance 31, SMC)

Prerequisite: None Basic ballet technique, placement and terminology are taught for the barre and centre. This course is offered cojointly with Santa Monica College. See counselor regarding credit limitations.
Ethnic Dance (Dance 20, SMC)
Grade Level: 10-12
Does Not Meet UC/CSU Requirements
Semester Course (5 credits)
Prerequisite: None Students will learn specific dance styles within a given semester which may include: African, Afro-Cuban, Mexican, Tap, and Eastern dance; the study of music, art, and costume of the particular style is also included. The dance techniques learned can serve as preparation for SMC class "Ethnic Dance Performance" (Dance 57B.)
