Psychology P Students will develop basic concepts of psychology and an historical perspective on psychology as the study of individual behavior. They will read about the contributions of Freud, Maslow, Pavlov, Rogers, and Skinner. They will have opportunitites to explore implications for everyday life of a scientific perspective on human behavior, and they will learn about various careers associated with the field. Psychology AP Psychology AP introduces students to the discipline of psychology by emphasizing the history of psychology as a science, the different theoretical approaches that underlie explanations of behavior, and the many different fields within psychology. The physiological implications of the brain on behavior, nature versus nurture philosophies, and major differences in treatments of behavior will be emphasized. Students are expected to take the AP exam at the end of this course. |
