ED Ahead Summer School 2013

We are pleased to announce summer school courses at Samohi. This year we will be running our traditional credit recovery courses for students who failed courses as well as 4 courses for students who wish to take courses early to get ahead. Both programs are free of charge and open to both students within and outside of the district. However priority is given to students who are currently enrolled with SMMUSD.
Intensive Intervention Summer School (IISS)
All IISS courses will be filled by Samohi advisers, DO NOT APPLY. Students are placed into IISS courses based upon the courses they need to graduate and the grades they earned. Priority will be given to students according to their grade level, with rising seniors having the highest priority. As spaces become available, we will accommodate students who need to repeat a class to raise their grade. There are no guarantees of enrollment. Letters of acceptance into IISS will go out to enrolled students the week of June 10, 2013. Within those letters will be a mandatory student/parent contract/agreement which will need to be signed. If you have questions concerning IISS, please talk with your child’s adviser.

Ed Ahead Summer School (EASS)
Due to overwhelming response, we are no longer accepting any applications for EASS. Students below have been accepted into the program and are expected to begin class on Monday, June 17, 2013. If you do not see your Samohi ID # you are on the waitlist. If room becomes available you will be contacted.
In checking Ed Code, we could find no way to offer 9th graders PE during the summer, so we will have to remove that from our Ed Ahead option. Any parent, whose student had previously made the accepted list for the biology courses and had then requested being moved to PE, will be moved back to the biology course. All students who were moved from the wait list to the accepted list due to the aforementioned changes will be moved back to the waitlist. We apologize for the confusion.
